Everyone in Labor has a position, even though the NSW opposition can't seem to find one. And among the Laborites with an opinion is Kevin. Rudd. Here is how the SMH reported his comments:
Labor has a slim hold on power federally and can ill-afford public displays of division such as that over power privatisation in NSW...he warned union bosses & party members that Labor governed by a small margin federally & the next election was already going to be tough because of the global economic meltdown.
Apparently Kevin didn't mention his support for privatisation directly, but he has done so before.
And Kevin whether you think Iemma is correct, it wont be displays of disunity that may sink Labor in NSW, either at a state or federal election, it will be the appalling stench of corruption and incompetence drifting off the rotting carcass of the state party.
Iemma's government has not improved upon the do-nothing dawdlings of Carr's regime, and indeed seems to be intent upon picking what little meat there may be left on the state's body, in a frenzied display of stripping what's left before anyone else has the chance.
There have been accusations that Quasicosta has been canvasing the merchant bank robbers for a nice little sinecure in the future. And his extraordinary viciousness in this fight has everything to do with having a prize of a very big fistful of dollars of banking fees to wave at his prospective employers. See what a good boy am I...
This is a government that will surely outshine Askin as a new standard of corruption and incompetence. It wont be disunity Kevin, it may very well be unity that sinks you. The continued defending of the appalling performance and behaviour of state Labor in NSW.
